These touching photos reveal the true bond between a mother bear and cubs
The photos, taken in Hallo Bay, Alaska, also reveal the daily struggles of bears in the wild, as the mother is forced to battle a large male.
They can be seen grappling, and her two cubs can do nothing but cower behind her during the terrifying encounter.
Her cubs would have little chance of survival if the mother was killed or seriously injured, but she emerged unscathed.
American photographer David Silverman, 53, captured the amazing photos, revealing what life is like for bears in the wild.
